CAB Regional Members’ Meeting, Leeds City Centre, 8 March 2018

Our first Regional Members’ meeting of 2018 will be held at two venues in Leeds City Centre.

CAB mini-conference

Our mini-conference, which is free for members to attend, takes place at The Carriageworks, Millennium Square, LS2 3AD. The Carriageworks is part of the Grade II listed Electric Press printing works and was redeveloped in 2005. The modern addition overlooks an historic glass-roofed courtyard which in Victorian times was home to the West Riding Carriage Manufactory.

The meeting is open to both Members and their guests and is preceded by a series of CAB update presentations. The mini-conference will consider the theme ‘A New Era for Specification?’ and consider a number of issues especially changes in Specifier attitudes and in the light of Dame Judith Hackitt’s interim report, whether Architects and Engineers will spend more time developing specifications. Furthermore, what are or what could be the implications for product manufacturers. The panel discussions will be chaired by Chris Ashworth, Competitive Advantage and include a range of speakers to be announced shortly.

Drinks Reception and Dinner

Our drinks reception and dinner will be held at Aspire, 2 Infirmary Street, LS1 2JP, just a short distance from The Carriageworks. Built in 1894, this imposing historic building was formerly the Yorkshire Bank and has been sympathetically restored in recent times. Our drinks reception will be held on the Mezzanine followed by dinner in the opulent Banking Hall.
