About us
The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) was formed in 1994 by the bringing together of three existing trade associations, the Architectural Aluminium Association, the Patent Glazing Contractors Association and the Aluminium Window Association. Its members include consultants, fabricators, installers, systems companies and many specialist product supply and manufacturing companies. CAB became a company limited by guarantee in January 2006.

CAB has now become the largest UK Aluminium in building trade association with well over 100 members across the supply chain. In 2001 CAB appointed its first full time Director in Justin Ratcliffe who is now Chief Executive. He was joined in 2004 by David Earle who was appointed to the role of Technical Officer.

Throughout its history CAB has continued to expand its services to Member companies see join us for details. In addition to technical information, guidance on regulations, standards, best practice and its publications CAB also promotes 7 RIBA Approved CPD Seminars. Its Regional events programme was highly commended at the 2005 Construction Marketing Awards and CAB also produces a monthly sector ezine www.aluminiuminarchitecture.com .

CAB is a member of CWCT (www.cwct.co.uk), the Construction Products Association (www.constprod.org.uk) and the RIBA Providers Network (www.riba.org) and works closely with many of the principle trades bodies.
